SURGOINSVILLE — An investigation was ongoing as of the Review’s weekend presstime into an incident that happened Wednesday evening in which a 17-month old toddler was struck in the driveway of a residence on Stanley Valley Road.

ROGERSVILLE — A man found standing in the road in front of a residence on Cloud Creek Road with his shirt and a hooded sweatshirt laying in the roadway and his pants around his ankles told a Hawkins Co. Sheriff’s Deputy that “bugs and snakes were crawling all over him”.

BULLS GAP — A man who allegedly fired a shot at Sheriff’s Deputies from Hawkins and Greene counties after he was found in a tree on Sunday evening was injured when authorities returned fire.

SURGOINSVILLE — Authorities were summoned on Friday, May 1, 2020, to a location on Byington Road, in Surgoinsville, where a complainant reported that several pieces of farm equipment, worth more than $13,000, had been stolen from behind double-locked gates on his property.

CHURCH HILL — A burglary at a deceased woman’s home resulted in the theft of approximately $7,425 worth of goods, and damage to two doors estimated at $800.
