MORRISTOWN – Huntington Beach, CA native Paul McBeth, four-time Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) world champion and the current #1 player in the world will be playing in the upcoming Tennessee State Disc Golf Championships in Morristown next weekend (May 31 — June 2).

With 117 career wins and earnings quickly approaching a half-million dollars, McBeth will be the marquee player of the event.

Joining McBeth will be his wife, Hannah in the women’s professional division and two-time Tennessee State pro champion and Tri-Cities native, Chris Dickerson.

The 280+ professional and amateur players currently registered hail from 21 states.

Pros will begin play at 1 p.m. Friday, May 31 on the Rotary Blue course at Frank Lorino Park, followed by rounds at the Kiwanis course at Wayne Hansard Park at 8 a.m., Saturday, June 1 and 2 p.m. at the Panther Creek State Park course.

Sunday’s play begins at 8 a.m. at Cherokee Park, with the final nine holes for the pros beginning at approximately 1 p.m. on the back nine of the Rotary Blue course, with the awards ceremony to follow.

Now in its seventh year, the tournament is sponsored by the City of Morristown Parks & Recreation Department, Hamblen County Government, and the Tourism Department of the Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce and produced by H.B. Clark of Blue Grass Disc Golf.
