ROGERSVILLE — Elsie Mae Buttry, age 81, of Rogersville, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2019, at Ballad Health’s Hawkins Co. Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of Caney Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Hattie Collins; brothers, James, Luther, Walter, and Chester Collins; husband, George Buttry; and daughter, Virginia Carol Teaster.
She is survived by three daughters, Georgia Smith and husband, Bobby, Ellen Davis and husband, Jerry, Nancy Mullins and husband, Bryan; two sons, Terry and Jason Buttry, all of Rogersville; 12 grandchildren, Eric Smith, Travis Taylor, Becky Gulley, Justin Slater, Taylor Bradley, Dylan Wallace, Savana Dyer, Chelsey Hensley, Nicole Dillard, Terra Buttry, Nathan Buttry, and Trenton Buttry; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Monday, April 8, 2019, at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m., with Rev. Ed Roy Cuthrell and Rev. Ray Mullins officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at Highland Cemetery. Condolences may be sent at www.christiansells.com.
