ROGERSVILLE — Award winning actress, Parents’ Choice Award-winning storyteller, singer-songwriter, activist, speaker and star of the acclaimed 2015 film, “War Room”, Karen Abercrombie will be the guest speaker for the Women of Hope Fall Conference on Oct. 21, 2017 at Hope Community Church of Rogersville.
The actress earned Dove, Movieguide, and Grace awards for her portrayal in the film of the spicy, 80-year old prayer warrior, Miss Clara, and will be the keynote speaker at the 6 p.m. event on the campus, located at 4163 US Hwy. 11W between Rogersville and Surgoinsville.
In addition to her role in “War Room” — a film produced by the Georgia church family that also brought “Courageous” and “Fireproof” to the screen —Abercrombie has appeared in TV shows such as “The Inspectors”, “Turn”, “Vampire Diaries”, “Ally McBeal”, “Saved By The Bell”, “Judging Amy” and “Strong Medicine”.
A new film that she is currently starring in — “Silent Grace” — is scheduled to be released at the end of this year.
She is also working on a new TV project for children that will begin production in early 2018, “Nana Kay and The Story Quilt.”
