ROGERSVILLE — An investigation into a possible domestic incident last week resulted in the arrest of a Surgoinsville man for possession of a prohibited weapon.
Hawkins Co. Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Allen on May 30, 2019, responded to a location on Caney Valley Loop in reference to a possible domestic incident.
On arrival, Allen said he spoke to Justin Arthur Page, 44, who told his side of the story to the officer while outside of the dwelling. Page reportedly said that his girlfriend was inside and when Allen if he could go inside to speak with her, Page said yes.
“Upon entering the residence I observed in plain view several rifles and handguns just across from the door,” Allen wrote in his report. “There was a rifle that had the barrel cut to eight inches and the stock had been cut off.”
At that point, Page was advised that he was in violation of the Prohibited Weapon law, was taken into custody and transported to the Hawkins Co. Jail.
