ROGERSVILLE — The town of Rogersville’s only dry-cleaning establishment plans to close on March 30 due to the serious illness of one of its owners.
In a letter sent to customers on Feb. 26, David W. Watson, of Wayne-Rose, Inc. (doing business as Collier’s Cleaners), wrote that the business, which has long been a fixture on Depot Street, is to close due to his illness.
Watson disclosed in the letter that he is suffering from Glioblastoma brain cancer.
“I am going to the Duke Brain Tumor Center in Durham, N.C.,” he wrote. “I am back on chemotherapy with infusions. It is my regret to inform you that we are closing Collier’s Cleaners in Rogersville. Many of you have been our customers for 16 years. Our final day of cleaning will be March 20. This will allow a final closing date of March 30.”
Watson said that he wants to spend time with his wife, Leanne, his children, Alex and Carrie, his extended family and friends.
Collier’s Cleaners was operated by the Collier family here for many years.
Watson said that questions may be directed to Rose, at the Cleaners, at 272-8111.
