Kudos to Rogersville BMA for reopening the Armstrong Street bridge one-way heading toward Ballad Health’s Hawkins Co. Memorial Hospital.
But why has it taken two years to do what the Rogersville BMA stated to the Review in 2017 that an option given by the Tenn. Dept. of Transportation was to keep bridge open using one-lane only?
The bridge being open is a benefit to emergency personnel transporting patients to the hospital from Broadway Street, but it appears that the BMA is no closer to solving the deteriorated bridge issue than they it was two years ago and the costs have increased.
Has anyone been in contact with TDOT to verify the status of this repair/replacement or will two more years pass with no completion?
