SNEEDVILLE — Hancock County Hospital is updating the way patients and visitors access the emergency department.
Beginning July 1, all walk-ins to the emergency department will use the main entrance to the hospital. Upon entering the facility, team members at the reception desk will be available to assist all patients and visitors.
The ambulance entrance located at the side of the hospital is reserved for ambulance use only. HCH has also implemented revised visiting hours. Visitors will need to obtain approval from the reception desk to visit certain areas within the facility. Color-coded passes will be provided to all visitors. Visiting hours will be 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. daily.
“These changes are being made to provide easy, consistent and safe access for our patients requiring emergent care, while ensuring we provide secure and reserved access for our patients arriving by ambulance,” said Regina Day, the hospital’s administrator.
Signage will be placed throughout the facility outlining the new provisions. Visitors who have questions can ask team members at the reception desk or nurses’ station as well as speak with security.
