KINGSPORT — Police in Kingsport have asked for the public’s help in locating a woman who has been missing since mid-May.

On the afternoon of June 27, Laura L. Amos was reported as a missing person to the Kingsport Police Department by her mother.

“Her mother told officers that her daughter had been out of contact with her since May 15, which is out of character for her,” Public Information Officer Thomas Patton said. “Based on this and other factors relayed to officers, there is reasonable cause to be concerned for her health and welfare.”

Amos has been entered into the National Crime Information Computer network as a missing person.

She is a 41-year old white female with brown hair and blue eyes. She is approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, and weighs about 139 pounds.

Anyone who has seen her or who may know her current whereabouts is asked to contact Detectives in the KPD Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.
