BULLS GAP — Burglars went into a residence at a Bulls Gap apartment complex on June 7, but the only thing apparently missing was the owner’s dog.
The victim told Hawkins Co. Sheriff’s Deputy Hunter Newton that sometime between 4:30 and 7:30 on that date, someone went into her unlocked apartment and took the small white pet with brown spots, leaving its harness behind.
There was no sign of forced entry into the apartment, the report stated, and other residents of the apartment complex reported seeing a black car with two white males come through, claiming they were “looking for a dog”.
Then, some days later, the victim said, the dognapped animal showed up at her apartment, minus its’ collar and “covered in fleas and ticks”.
The victim said she planned to speak to the manager of the apartments about viewing video surveillance tapes in an attempt to identify the thief or thieves.
