SURGOINSVILLE — The theft of about $1,350 in items from a vacant home on Richards Road, in Surgoinsville, is under investigation.
The owner told Hawkins Co. Sheriff’s Deputy Hunter Lamons that he moved from the residence on May 25, 2019, but still had property stored there, and on that date, all of the missing items were still there.
When the owner arrived at the residence about 12:40 p.m. on June 2, he discovered missing: a dresser, foot locker, toy car bed, John Deere™ riding toys, 302 Ford motor and 4x4 Ranger transmission, valued at about $1,350.
The owner told the deputy that he knew of a man who had just moved back to the area who “had previously stolen items from him”.
The case remains under investigation and anyone with information as to the whereabouts of the stolen items may call the HSCO at 423-272-4848.
