MOORESBURG — A Robbins Lane man was charged with multiple offenses March 7 by a Hawkins Co. Sheriff’s Deputy after he allegedly left the scene of a reported fight and a subsequent traffic accident.

Deputy Michael Allen charged Alex R. Marcum, 36, of Mooresburg, with: criminal impersonation, violating the implied consent law, DUI, driving with a revoked license, leaving the scene of an accident, failing to exercise due care and failing to show proof of insurance after officers responding to a report of a fight found that he allegedly had left the scene of a traffic accident.

Deputy Allen wrote in his report that a witness told deputies that she had seen a set of headlights disappear in a curve then had seen a man matching the description of Marcum walking in the roadway.

He also wrote that Marcum initially gave officers a different name and birthdate. Neither the name nor birthdate was on file with the National Crime Information Center, according to Allen’s report. However, during a search of Marcum’s person, officers found a wallet that contained a Missouri driver’s license that bore Marcum’s name.

A subsequent check through the NCIC computer system found that Marcum’s license to drive had previously been revoked in Missouri.

Marcum was scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on March 11, according to the arrest report.
