Dancing With the Tri-Cities Stars

KINGSPORT — Dancing with The Tri-Cities Stars celebrates its 11th year at Meadowview Conference Resort and Convention Center, in Kingsport, on Saturday, June 8, at 5 p.m.

Stars competing for the mirror ball trophy include:

• Christy Steadman – Professional Photographer;

• Kim Hall – Site President for Citigroup’s Service Center in Gray;

• Whitney Carr – Rogersville native and Talk Show Host at VIPSeen Live with Whitney & Morgan;

• Carrie Maggard – Co-Owner Yoga Farm;

• Donna Lamkpins – Realtor, Keller Williams;

• Dr. Justin Smith – Vice-President and Clinical Director of Physical Therapy Services;

• Jason Vanover – Executive Chef J. Franks;

• Keddrain “KD” Bowen – Owner Fanatics 101;

• Dr. Greg Russell – Optometrist, East Tennessee Eye Care; and,

• Mark Joseph – Nuclear Safety Engineer, Oak Ridge

The evening begins with a tapas style meal, a short video of Jeremiah School, an introduction of the judges, stars and sponsors, and a dance competition that mirrors the ABC-TV show Dancing with the Stars. After a short intermission, the stars will perform their second dance, there is a silent and live auction, an encore presentation of the 2018 winners, Male, Tracy Solomon, Female, Paige Peters and People’s Choice, Dr, Briddger Chatman followed by the presentation of the 2019 winners and open dancing with Michael’s Krazy Karaoke.

The evening of dancing aims to bring awareness to an organization trying to impact the Tri-Cities community by offering a therapeutic day school for children in this area with neurological delays in relating and communicating, including autism.

“The need in our area is great, and we are excited to provide a school where the children are not only educated but are also encouraged to build relationships with each other and serve a broader community,” a spokesperson said. “Jeremiah School is the only faith-based school in East Tennessee dedicated to a focus on diversity in learning while developing relational skills.”

General admission tickets are $125 and VIP tables range from $2,000 for elevated tables, $2,500 for VIP tables and $3,000 for front row tables.
