EIDSON — The Saturday, May 18, bluegrass event at Clinch Valley Volunteer Fire Dept. was a big success. “We had a great turnout and everyone seemed to enjoy the music provided by the bands ‘Pick-Up’ out of Sneedville and ‘Southside Express’ out of Rogersville,” a member said. “We even had some people get up and dance! Thanks to the band members for treating us with their awesome talent and a special thanks to Allen Seal of the Gospel band ‘Higher Ground’ for providing the sound system. It made the sound of bluegrass echo all the way down the valley. Treadway could probably hear us!” Members also thanked everyone for their generosity in donating to the cause. “Every little bit helps us towards keeping our Fire Department up and running,” they said. A special thanks was given to Troy and Lorraine Alley, State Representative Gary Hicks, Constable Johnny Drinnon, the Sheriff’s Office and Treadway Vol. Fire Department for coming out and supporting the event. “A big thank you to our sponsors for donating food items — Greene’s IGA, Holt’s IGA, D&R Market, Family Dollar, Walmart and Food City — and thank you to everyone who helped in the kitchen and all the efforts that went into setting up the event. We appreciate every one of you!,” members said. The department’s next community event will be an ATV/Adventure Ride on Saturday, June 8th, held in memory of Ray Jones. (More details on the ride will be published in The Rogersville Review and the Hancock Co. Eagle as soon as they are available.)
