SNEEDVILLE — Family, friends, and the general public are invited to Music on the Farm, a benefit for local residents Brandy and Ben Hopkins.

The July 13 event at Spirit Crossing is a fundraiser to help the family with medical expenses.

Ben, friends said, is a deputy sheriff and a mailman who is currently inactive due to caring for his wife, Brandy, who is battling cancer.

The event, which begins at 11 a.m. and will end at 11 p.m., promises good food and fellowship and knowing that all money raised is going to help a family who truly needs help at this time.

“Ben is also Wes Teregan’s mailman and we’d like to support this worthy cause, as Brandy’s treatment will become costly,” a friend said. “Please consider coming out to this family-friendly event and making a donation to help this family out.”

Organizers are asking for a minimum donation of $20, but additional amounts will be gratefully accepted.

Persons who can’t attend but would like to make a donation, may visit

The farm is located at 343 Clinch River Circle, about 11.3 miles from Sneedville.
