Carrie Lou Herrell, age 86, was born in Claiborne County, on January 25, 1923. She left this Earth for Heaven on June 22, 2009. She lived most of her adult life on a farm in Hancock County with her husband Warren Herrell Sr. She loved to garden, quilt, and talk on the phone with her friends. She was a member of Hoop Creek Baptist Church. She joins in Heaven, her parents: Martha and Bryant Mize; husband, Warren Herrell Sr.; son, George Herrell; daughter, Brenda Herrell; sister, Gladys Tucker; brother, George Mize. She leaves behind to cherish her memories: Her daughters: Wanda Howell, Kay Hopper (Roger), Vickie Jackson (Rodney). Sons: Warren Herrell, Jr. and Gary Herrell (Pam). Sisters: Lillie Brooks and Ruby Parker. Sisters-in-law: Connie Mize and Agnes Tye. Very close friends; Nellie Riley and Imogene Wilson. She was a wonderfull grandmother to 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren who will greatly miss "Granny." Granddaughter: LaKesha Herrell showed her extra special love and care during her final hours. She has many other relatives , friends and neighbors who will miss laughing and talking with her. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. Thursday at the Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell. Funeral service 2 p.m. Friday June 26, 2009 at the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in the Herrell Cemetery in Hancock County. Minister: Rev. T.P. Phillips. Singers: Imogene Wilson and the Hoop Creek Church Choir.
