The leaves are almost gone, the frosts have arrived and there is a snowflake on the extended weather forecast graphic. The holiday season is upon us. Rogersville and Hawkins County are offering various seasonal events this year to help get you in the ‘spirit’, so keep an eye on the calendar of events so you won’t miss a minute of the festivities.
The official start of the season is on Dec. 5 with the Rogersville Christmas Parade at 4 p.m. This year’s theme is “Music of Christmas.”
The 2015 Parade of Trees, sponsored by Rogersville/Hawkins County Chamber of Commerce, will be on display at USBank on Main Street. This display will be up until at least Dec. 17.
A new event this year, The Gingerbread House Contest, will be on display at Hale Springs Inn from Dec. 5 - 26.
The Rogersville Arts Council is producing a Christmas Variety Show at the Rogersville Playhouse on Sunday, Dec. 6th at 2:30 p.m., and the Rogersville Heritage Association is holding their “Tour of Homes” on Dec. 12th with 10 properties to share and explore.
These are just a few of the many events going on in our area over the holidays, so be sure to get out and take it all in. You have to admit … no matter where you go, no one has a prettier or more festive downtown than Rogersville at Christmas!
