CHURCH HILL — A Payne Ridge Road man told a Hawkins Co. Sheriff’s Deputy Nov. 8 that someone had stolen a small safe from his residence that contained jewelry and other items valued at $2,408.48.

A report filed by Deputy Bobby Moffitt indicated that the victim last saw the safe — which was missing from beneath his bed — on Oct. 15.

The safe was discovered missing on Nov. 6 and the resident found no sign of forced entry, according to the report.

The missing items taken along with the safe included: a 14-carat white gold anniversary band with a diamond that had a estimated value of $1,499; a 14-carat white gold band valued at $500; a 14-carat gold wedding band valued at $327.48; $12 in $2 bills; and $14 silver dollars. The safe was valued at $59, according to the report.
